How we publish

Editorial standards

Our guides exist to help founders make better decisions with their own numbers. These are the rules every one of them follows.

Who writes our guides

Every guide carries the name of the person who wrote it and the person who reviewed it. Both are practitioners at Mr. Prime who run Amazon and marketplace accounts, and both are listed with their role and background on the page. The author is responsible for the guide’s accuracy; the reviewer checks the reasoning, the figures and anything that could mislead.

How we check facts

  • Primary sources first. Definitions, fees and rules come from Amazon’s own documentation, GOV.UK and HMRC, or company filings and results announcements. We link to each one where it is used.
  • Third-party sources are labelled. When only an industry source is available, we name it and say so in the text. If Amazon has not confirmed something, we tell you and explain how to check it yourself.
  • Every source is dated. The list at the end of each guide shows when we last checked it.
  • Illustrations are marked. Worked examples use invented figures unless we say otherwise, and we say which parts follow published rules and which are illustrative.

Client data

We never publish a client’s name, figures or words without the client’s written permission. Examples in our guides are built from published rules and illustrative numbers, not from any client’s account.

How we use AI

We use AI tools to help research and draft some guides, and to generate some illustrations. A named practitioner edits every guide, checks every claim against its source and takes responsibility for what is published. AI-generated images are labelled in their captions.

Updates and corrections

Amazon changes its fees and definitions often. When a change affects a guide, we update it, re-check the sources and change the “last reviewed” date. If we get something wrong, we correct it promptly and say what changed at the foot of the guide. You can report an error through our contact page.

Independence

Mr. Prime sells Amazon, TikTok Shop and ecommerce management services, and our guides mention them. We write each guide to be useful whether or not you ever work with us. We do not accept payment for coverage, and we are not affiliated with, or endorsed by, Amazon or TikTok.
